A very unusual and elegant albino form of Bayerotrochus hirasei, belonging to the distinctive Pleurotomariidae family.

Measuring 70 mm and weighing 35 g, this specimen stands out for its exceptionally pale coloration. Instead of the warmer reddish and brown tones more commonly seen in Bayerotrochus hirasei, the shell is dominated by soft ivory, white and very pale grey shades, with only a subtle warmer tone around the apex.

The surface shows the characteristic fine spiral sculpture of the species, together with the unmistakable slit along the outer lip, one of the defining features of the Pleurotomariidae.

Its unusual albino appearance gives the shell a particularly clean, refined and almost sculptural quality, making it especially attractive for a specialist shell collection or natural-history display.
