Coco de Mer (Lodoicea maldivica) is a unique and famous palm native to the Seychelles, growing naturally only on two islands: Praslin and Curieuse. This fruit is known for producing the largest seed in the plant kingdom, with sizes reaching 40 to 50 cm in length and a weight between 15 and 25 kg. Its shell has a distinctive shape reminiscent of female buttocks, making it easily recognizable. The palm is classified as endangered by the IUCN and is strictly protected by the local authorities in the Seychelles for conservation purposes. This specimen comes with a base included, measures 31 cm in length, 25 cm in width, 14 cm in depth, and stands 40 cm tall on its base. The weight without the base is approximately 1.575 kg, while with the base it is 3.155 kg. It is a natural symbol of the Seychelles and a testament to the archipelago’s unique biodiversity.
