An impressive gigante specimen of Conus leopardus, distinguished by its exceptional size, heavy structure and elegant elongated form.
Measuring 155 mm and weighing 485 g, this is a substantial cone shell with a broad body whorl and a long, narrow aperture. The exterior shows a pale ivory to white ground covered with numerous small dark brown spots, creating the characteristic leopard-like pattern that gives the species its name.
The shell has a strong sculptural presence, with clean proportions and a beautifully contrasting pattern concentrated across the upper surface and shoulder. Its considerable weight and 155 mm size make it especially striking as both a collector specimen and a decorative natural-history piece.
A remarkable large example of this distinctive Conidae species.
