These beautiful natural iridescent ammonites from Madagascar reveal the remarkable colours hidden within an ancient marine fossil. Their shell surface displays delicate flashes of green, blue, pink and golden iridescence, naturally created by the preservation of the original nacre over millions of years.
Belonging to the genus Cleoniceras, these ammonites lived during the Early Cretaceous, approximately 110 million years ago, when Madagascar was covered by warm tropical seas. Their perfectly coiled shells remain among the most iconic fossils, admired for both their scientific significance and their timeless aesthetic appeal.
Each specimen measures approximately 12–14 cm (4.7–5.5 inches) in diameter and has been carefully cleaned to preserve its natural appearance while highlighting the spectacular pearly reflections. Every ammonite is unique, with its own combination of iridescence, natural markings and preservation.
Ideal for fossil collectors, interior designers and lovers of natural history, these specimens make elegant display pieces for cabinets of curiosities, bookshelves or sophisticated home décor.
A captivating fossil where natural history and iridescent beauty come together, offering a rare glimpse into the ancient oceans of the Cretaceous period.
