An extraordinary polished rhodochrosite specimen from Catamarca, Argentina, distinguished by an unusually complex and highly decorative internal structure.

Unlike the more regular concentric banding commonly associated with rhodochrosite slices, this specimen reveals a fascinating composition of multiple rounded and orbicular formations. Rich rose and raspberry-pink areas are arranged in individual concentric structures, many with pale cream or white centres, creating a spectacular natural pattern across the polished surface.

The lower portion is dominated by several large circular formations with intense coloration and sharply defined internal rings, while the upper section contains numerous smaller “eye-like” structures in varying shapes and sizes. These are interspersed with pale pink, cream, grey, and natural matrix areas, resulting in an exceptionally dynamic composition.

Natural fractures, cavities, irregular boundaries, and contrasting mineral zones remain visible throughout the slab and form an integral part of its geological character. The polished finish brings out the vivid colour contrasts and allows the complex growth patterns to become the central feature of the specimen.
