Some specimens offered for sale on Latiaxis.com are subject to CITES regulations (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
Latiaxis S.r.l. sells two categories of products covered by CITES regulations:
1. Specimens Acquired Before Their Inclusion in the CITES Appendices
These are specimens that were legally acquired before they became subject to CITES regulations, such as Nautilus shells, Great White Shark teeth, and certain species of requiem sharks (Carcharhinidae).
Upon request, we can provide the available supporting documentation (customs declarations, invoices, or other records of purchase) demonstrating that the specimen was legally acquired before its inclusion in the CITES protection lists.
2. Specimens Legally Imported Under CITES Authorization
This category includes species that have been legally purchased and imported by Latiaxis S.r.l. in compliance with all applicable CITES regulations.
For these specimens, a CITES Import Permit is available as proof of lawful importation. The permit applies to the total number of specimens listed in the original document and is not normally provided directly to the final purchaser.
If a specimen is subsequently resold, the relevant documentation may be provided or referenced upon request, where necessary to demonstrate the specimen’s legal origin.
For any verification regarding the provenance of a specimen, Latiaxis S.r.l. retains the relevant documentation and can provide documentary references upon request.
Examples of specimens falling within this category include, but are not limited to: Corals, Crocodilians, Strombus gigas, Other species regulated under CITES
