A substantial specimen of Cassis tuberosa, commonly known as the King Helmet, one of the most recognizable members of the Cassidae family.
Measuring 141 mm and weighing 455 g, this shell has the heavy, robust structure typical of the species. The body whorl is strongly inflated and sculptured with pronounced knobs and angular projections, giving the specimen a bold architectural character.
The surface shows an attractive mix of cream, pale grey, brown and violet-brown tones, with fine spiral lines running across the shell and darker markings adding depth to the natural pattern. The thickened outer lip and strongly developed sculpture further emphasize the powerful form of this species.
Originating from the Caribbean, this is an impressive collector specimen with considerable weight and strong decorative presence, suitable for both a specialist Cassidae collection and natural-history display.
