A small marine specimen with an exceptionally rugged appearance, the Horrid Elbow Crab (Daldorfia horrida) is characterized by its heavily textured body, irregular projections and robust, sculptural claws. Its rough surface and earthy reddish-brown tones create a remarkable rock-like camouflage, reflecting the species’ adaptation to complex reef environments.

This specimen measures approximately 4.6 × 3 × 2.2 cm (1.81 × 1.18 × 0.87 in). Despite its compact size, the intricate carapace and unusually shaped claws reveal an impressive amount of natural detail.

An intriguing specimen for marine collections, curiosity cabinets and natural history displays, where its unusual morphology makes it particularly distinctive.

As a genuine natural specimen, small irregularities and imperfections are part of its authentic character.
