These striking trilobite fossils belong to the genus Phacops, one of the most recognizable inhabitants of the Devonian seas. Living roughly 380–400 million years ago, Phacops trilobites are celebrated for their distinctive form: a rounded head shield, deeply segmented body, and the large, bulbous compound eyes that once helped them navigate ancient ocean floors.
Each specimen is preserved within its natural Moroccan limestone matrix and carefully prepared to reveal the trilobite in crisp relief. The glossy, dark fossil contrasts beautifully against the pale stone, emphasizing the fine segmentation of the thorax and the sculptural curves of the cephalon and pygidium. Many Phacops fossils are found enrolled — curled into a defensive posture — a behavior these animals used to protect themselves on the seabed.
Collected from renowned Devonian fossil beds in Morocco, these specimens make compelling additions to natural history collections, classroom displays, or geological cabinets of curiosity.
Each piece is a genuine fossil — a small survivor from a vanished ocean, carrying the quiet imprint of life from hundreds of millions of years ago.
